Sony Centre Renovations

We are pleased to announce that Symtech Innovations (bonded by Western Surety Company) has been awarded the Electrical Upgrades contract for the Sony Centre Renovation Project in Toronto. This 50 year old cultural icon has lived through many incarnations, from the O’Keefe Centre, to the Hummingbird Centre, and now known as the Sony Centre. This landmark theatre is being upgraded by Vanbots (A Carillion Company) to reflect present standards of this world class theatre.

We are pleased to say that the very tight construction schedule is right on time. This renovation precedes the $27.5-million condo project, The L Tower. Symtech’s scope of work entails new incoming duct bank, high voltage (13.8 KV switchgear), 4000 amp switchboard, fire alarm, augmented CAT6 cabling, dimming system, demolition and temporary power. We have been contracted to relocate the main electrical infrastructure from the west side of the Sony Centre to the east side in order to accommodate the residential project.
