This massive 1,770,000 square foot facility at the Toronto Pearson Airport acts as Bombardier’s state-of-the-art global manufacturing centre. This space allows for the optimization of final assembly operations for Bombardier’s collection of Global Business jets, including the industry flagship Global 7500 aircraft. It has a hangar space for pre-flight activities and an assembly line that can build up to 100 aircrafts per year.
We worked alongside our partners Neuf Architect(e)s and STANTEC project and design teams to achieve Bombardier’s sustainability and energy efficient targets. Bombardier’s transition to this manufacturing facility has significantly reduced their energy consumption and environmental footprint, by focusing on more efficient lighting elements, heating methods, and updated processing systems.
Symtech was responsible for all the Electrical and ICAT scope of work – planning, procuring, executing, and commissioning all electrical systems, smart (ACMS, VMS, Intercom, Lighting Control) systems, life safety systems, lighting protection, distribution, emergency power systems, security systems, audio visual systems, CCTV, and network infrastructure. Symtech also installed over 243 km of conduit to protect and route electrical wiring in this enormous industrial facility.
