Cassels Brock & Blackwell LLP has relocated to its new headquarters at 40 Temperance Street – the top five floors in the North Tower of the Bay-Adelaide Centre. As a leading Canadian law firm focused on serving the transaction, advocacy, and advisory needs of the country's most dynamic business sectors, Cassels offers one of Canada's largest business law practices.
The new headquarters not only facilitates the "hoteling" of Cassels' employees and clients, along with space for hosting events, but also ensures equal access to daylight and equitable office sizes for all staff members. It features a 4,500 sq. ft. wellness centre encompassing meditation and yoga spaces, a fitness centre equipped with Peloton bikes and treadmills, a lactation room for breastfeeding mothers, a religious observance room, and a family room where parents can stash kids.
Symtech is proud to have partnered with Gensler, Mulvey & Banani, Ombrages, and mform Construction Group to build this exceptional workplace. The new headquarters is expected to help Cassels attract and retain talent in a competitive marketplace while creating flexibility and offering choices to their employees. It aims to inspire an open and responsive culture of mentorship and learning while representing a clear break away from traditional law firm workplace tenets.
Symtech was responsible for completing the 5-storey tenant fit-out, which included electrical installations (offices, common areas, wellness areas, boardrooms, and meeting areas), distribution upgrades, an extensive lighting package (with specialty light fixtures cut to millwork angles), and a lighting control system.
