General Contractor: Laing O’Rourke
This 3-storey, 169,000 sq. ft. educational facility houses York University’s Electrical, Mechanical, and Civil Engineering departments and a wide variety of learning amenities including state-of-the-art classrooms, research spaces, technical shops, laboratories, office spaces, and student spaces.
This building was constructed in collaboration with partners Laing O’Rourke and The Gilliam Group. All preliminary planning was done through the extensive use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) to ensure that all construction methods were optimized and designs were thoroughly assessed.
Symtech was responsible for the installation of all building systems including lighting, security, fire alarms, P.A. systems, power distribution, integrated cabling, and emergency backup systems.
