This $350 million revitalization and expansion is located on the north side of the mall, with over 200,000 square feet of retail space integrated onto the original 985,124 square foot shopping center.
The full renovation included the installation of new flooring, ceilings, lighting, public washrooms, and a three-level parkade with 1,200 parking spaces. This expansion significantly increased the retail space to 1.3 million square feet, which was developed into the GTA’s first Nordstrom store and four full-service restaurants.
Symtech was responsible for all electrical installations, including the P.A. system, fire alarm, electrical distribution system, energy efficient LED lighting, lighting control systems, two back up emergency generators, and three 1600A electrical services. 500,000 feet of conduit and 1,800,000 feet of wire was installed to connect all of the systems.
