The Toronto Eaton Centre Bridge is a 40-year-old structure which links two of the city’s biggest shopping and office complexes. This bridge stands at 600 sq. ft. and is used by two million people annually. The replacement for the pre-existing Toronto Eaton Centre Bridge project was valued at over $30 million, in order to significantly improve the pedestrian experience.
The bridge was created with a combination of glass and etched bronze cladding for the exterior, which constructed a contextual link between the differing architectural typologies of the interconnected buildings.
Symtech was responsible for all electrical systems including lighting, security systems, fire alarms, public address systems, power distribution, integrated cabling, and emergency backups.
