Symtech is pleased to announce that we have been awarded the Electrical contract by PCL Constructors Canada Inc. for the Yonge Eglinton Centre revitalization and redevelopment project.
Located in the heart of Midtown Toronto, the Yonge Eglinton Centre is a popular mixed-use office complex and destination for shopping and dining. Currently, the 750,000 sq. ft. space is comprised of two office towers above a 3-storey shopping mall, anchored by a grocery store and a multi-screen cinema. This proposed $100 million dollar development will add approximately 40,000 sq. ft. retail space by constructing three additional levels at the corner of Yonge Street and Eglinton Avenue. The office towers currently stand at 22- and 30-storeys. After project completion, the final height of both buildings will be 27- and 37-storeys.
Symtech will be responsible for installing all electrical systems, including new LED lighting, the infrastructure for complex media signage deployment, and upgrading the existing fire alarms and P.A. systems. The expansion will also incorporate LED lighting in the exterior glass walls that will illuminate the expansion during the evening hours. This type of LED lighting will set the precedence for other retail buildings for years to come.
