Symtech Innovations Ltd. is proud to announce that we have been awarded the Design Assist Electrical contract for the Rogers Centre renovation project.
As the first large-scale renovation in Rogers Centre’s history begins in 2022 winter, the city’s stadium will be transferred into a world-class ballpark with modernized fan experiences and enhanced player facilities. The total renovation value will be over $300 million, privately funded.
The renovation will be divided into two phases over the next three off-seasons. The first phase will raise the bullpens and move 100-Level seating to bring fans closer to the game. Phase one will also replace all 500-level seats and add two new patios to the left and right fields in the 500 level to create a more viewer-friendly experience.
In terms of player amenities, a 5,000-square-foot weight room, a players’ family room, and a staff locker room will be added. Phase two will focus on overhauling the 100-Level infield seating, adding multiple premium social spaces, and building the clubhouse.
Symtech will be responsible for demolition and installation of all electrical systems, including power distribution, emergency power, high-efficient lighting, lighting controls, security system (CCTV and Access Control), fire alarm, life safety systems, and broadcast infrastructure. Symtech will also plan, procure, execute, and commission all communication systems, including copper cabling, fibre infrastructure, wireless access points, and DAS system. The Design Assist approach for this project allows Symtech to contribute its broad experience to improve constructability, achieve efficiencies, cost savings, and ultimately add value.
