Sarnia – Seasons Retirement Community + Bayside Centre

We are proud to announce Symtech Innovations Ltd. has been awarded the Design Assist Electrical contract for the Seasons Retirement Community, formerly the Sarnia Bayside Centre. The redevelopment for the downtown property will include two new residential retirement towers above the underground parking garage.

It is located on over 8 acres of land in Sarnia’s downtown core.  The county of Lambton has approximately 225 employees working in the offices and shared space that include partner agencies, Service Ontario, and the Ontario Disabilities Support Program.  Therefore, before construction can begin, Symtech will perform the investigation of the existing services and facilities to assist in the design development of approximately 85,000 square feet of office space.

The Seasons Retirement Communities redevelopment is planning a 140-160 suite retirement residence above the occupied shared office spaces. The new development aims to help showcase Sarnia as a growing municipality with a vibrant downtown, renewed healthcare facilities and a skilled workforce.

Symtech will be responsible for the investigation and preparing drawings for the existing electrical systems such as power distribution, emergency power, lighting, fire alarm, network systems and security systems. Symtech will also provide the entire parking garage with new lighting, lighting control, and fire alarm systems. Within the occupied tenant space, Symtech will work alongside the engineering firm to bring the space up to current standards. Once investigation of the space is complete, Symtech will actively coordinate plans with the Design Team (Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, and Electrical Consultants) to assist in the engineering of the Seasons Retirement Community Tower Project. This Design Assist methodology enables Symtech to contribute its extensive experience in the field to achieve construction efficiencies and to overcome any obstacles that may arise in the overall redevelopment project.
